Job Posting: Finance Manager
Location: Valley Manor
Position: Full-Time, 37. 5 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hybrid work arrangement can be accommodated.
Valley Manor is seeking a Finance Manager to lead all financial operations of the home. This is a key leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.
This position also oversees IT systems and select support services, and plays an important role in ensuring the home remains financially sustainable and compliant within the long-term care sector.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Financial Leadership
- Lead all accounting functions, including monthly financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide clear reporting to leadership and the Board
- Support the annual operating and capital budget process
- Ensure strong internal controls, reconciliations, and audit readiness
Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee all Ministry reporting (OHRS, MIS, occupancy, annual reports, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with long-term care funding requirements and legislation
- Lead year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
Operations & Oversight
- Supervise finance staff and oversee accounting processes (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger)
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and resident trust accounts
- Support IT systems and recommend improvements where needed
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives
Labour Relations & Support
- Support union-related financial analysis, including costing for negotiations
- Provide financial insights to leadership to support decision-making
What You Bring
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience, ideally in healthcare or long-term care
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and audits
- Ability to lead the annual budget development process in collaboration with leadership and department managers.
- Experience with government reporting and funding models (an asset)
- Familiarity with unionized environments
- Strong systems skills (experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar is an asset)
Compensation
- Starting salary: $85,000 per year
