Valley Manor Inc. Nursing Home is a single story, 90-bed nursing home that opened in May of 1978. The home is located in the town of Barry's Bay, 2 hours west of Ottawa.

The home surrounds an open courtyard that is accessible to all residents and is the attractive focus in the summer when flowers are in full bloom. The fireplace lounge, assembly room, chapel and library are always bustling with our residents and staff.

Our courtyard is often enjoyed by staff, residents and visitors in the summer months.

The staff of Valley Manor Inc. are exceptional individuals that have a common goal, bettering the life for the residents in their care. Staff members are highly trained, compassionate and motivated to provide the best long term care possible, with some members of the staff having been employed with the home for over 20 years.

Accreditation ~

The Canadian Council on Healh Services Accreditation is an organization that sets standards for Long Term Care and other health service organizations across Canada.

Valley Manor has always shown concern for the quality of services it provides and joined the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) in 1983.

The Accreditation process requires that employees of the Manor complete a self-assessment of all services provided. Following that assessment an independent assessment and survey is completed by a surveyor from the CCHSA. Information gathered is then used by the Council to determine the status awarded to the facility. We are proud to say that each accreditation survey conducted by the Council has resulted in a three-year status or award for Valley Manor Inc.
